North Crowley Elementary Room 19

Hi. My name is Mrs. DeSoto. I am a 2nd Grade teacher for this school year. I am very excited about all the fun learning activities planned for this year. I have completed my Bachelor’s Degree along with my certification at the University of Louisiana of Lafayette in 2015. I am happily married. I have been blessed with two sons.

Classroom Rules:

To maintain an appropriate learning environment, I have established the following Whole Brain classroom rules, which all students are expected to follow:

Follow Directions Quickly  Raise Your Hand For Permission to Speak  Raise your Hand for Permission to Leave your Seat!  Make Smart Choices  Keep Your Dear Teacher Happy!

Each child will have a MAGIC Communication Folder that you should check every day. One side will be labeled “Keep at Home” which you keep these papers at home. The other side will be labeled “Return to School” which you will need to look over and return these papers back to me. You will get a weekly conduct page from our new Demerit system attached to your students test papers. I try to get them out on Tuesday.

Homework:

Homework assignments are now available to look at online, however they are subject to change...depending on what we get done in class.  In order to see what they are, look on the RIGHT side, where the "homework tab" is listed and click on it.  Also, make sure that you check your child's newsletter.  If you have problems understanding an assignment, email me so that I can correct any confusion.

Grading Scale:
93-100 A
85-92  B
75-84  C
67-74  D
0-66    F

Communication:

My e-mail address is [email protected]. Please e-mail me with any questions or concerns you have. The school’s telephone number is 337-783-8755. You can call and leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible. My planning period is from 12:45 to 1:15 on Tuesday.

I would like to create an open line of communication with you so we can work together to support your child with a very successful education and school year. I look forward to working with you and your children this year.  Let me know if you would like to visit the classroom or help in any way.  We’d love to have you.

Please remember that if you would like to visit the classroom, it must be after school.  This is for your child's safety, as well as ours.  If possible, schedule an appointment.
